Background

The ICRA-DJI RoboMaster AI Challenge is a game of cooperation and competition between robots in a partially observable environment, quite similar to the Counter-Strike game. It had been hosted for three years by the RoboMaster Organizing Committee in conjunction with the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation(ICRA). The ICRA-DJI RoboMaster AI Challenge 2020 was canceled due to the COVID-19.

New Techniques Compared with 2019

  • Sensor Fusion between AMCL and S1 visual tags as the landmark to improve robotlocalization.
  • Estimate the enemy robot pose through camera.
  • Add one more LiDAR on the back of the robot to have a 360 degree object detection.
  • A Gazebo simulation environment with many useful features, like supporting deep reinforcement learning through OpenAI Gym.
